·  Developed root cause analysis for complex network anomalies.

·  Managed the day-to-day operations of the company’s larges Lucent 5ESS end office, as well as the first soft switch implementation for the network.

·  Managed network hub sites as well as 35 each Verizon colocations and 2 each Telcove co-location facilities.

XO Communications (formerly Nextlink), Wyomissing, PA    1995-1998

Operations Manager

·  Responsible for the initial design criteria and implementation of the first Competitive Local Exchange Carrier in Pennsylvania (CLEC).

·  Personally responsible for site acquisition, and commissioning of the first two computerized switching centers for the XO network in Pennsylvania.  Tasks included were site identification, acquisition negotiation, demolition and design of all support structures to include grounding, HVAC, AC/DC power, lighting, superstructure, electronic configurations and security.  All phases of construction were budgeted, tracked, coordinated between various vendors and reported to the ownership using MSProject.

·  Directed all operational issues and instituted and staffed a Network Call Center of 20.

·  Developed business strategies and best practice documents resulting in improved levels of service at reduced costs.

·  Played key role in process control, vendor selection, technology issues, technical support, and design and growth of the network.  Received 1996 National Recognition Award for this role in launching the Nextlink/XO network.
